Family Sponsorship

Eligible Canadian citizens, permanent residents and registered Indians may sponsor a spouse, common-law partner or dependent child. Eligibility and relationship evidence matter.

Dependent children must meet IRCC’s definition. A careful review of age, dependency and family documents helps determine the right approach.

Parent and grandparent sponsorship is invitation-based and currently paused. Eligibility, income requirements and intake rules can change.

Only limited, specific situations allow sponsorship of other relatives. We can help assess whether a family-class pathway may apply.
